Seths Story

Can you share your art journey so far? What sparked your interest in art?

I grew up in a small town in Taranaki called Oakura. My journey into art began with a head-first obsession with drawing! Starting in primary school, it was mostly all I did, and I continued into high school, where I’d skip classes to go to the art room every day. They even gave me my own space because I spent so much time there!

What led you to pursue tattooing as a career?

Like most other tattooists, I started by getting tattooed and spending lots of time in studios. I made friends in the industry and got my start that way.

What's your favourite tattoo that you currently have?

That's a hard one to pick, but I recently got a little Sauron as a baby doll that I’m really loving!

Have you ever tattooed yourself?

I have a couple of times on my leg! I've done a cute little neo-traditional lemon and a lucky charm with a skull!

What's the most memorable tattoo you've done to date?

Hmmm, that’s a tough one! Probably the neo-traditional bunny with a hunting knife that I did on my friend Shae.

Which artistic style do you like working in the most?

I do a few styles, but my preference is neo-traditional.

Who, or what inspires your work the most?

I was inspired by all the heavy metal musicians I idolized growing up. Seeing they were all covered in tattoos made me very excited to grow up and get my own.

Where can people find you for tattooing

I’m tattooing out of Poms Tattoo Lounge, 9 Fifth Avenue, Enderley, Hamilton.
